Getting Organised

Helpful preparation tips

You can design your My Reflections photobooks from either digital photos or scanned photos.

Please make sure you save your photos from your camera or CD onto your hard drive before designing your album. If you use ‘My Pictures’ to organise your photos, these tips might help.

Firstly, I have all my photos in a folder for the year they were taken. Like this:

Then lets say that we are making an album from the photos this year so far. Here are my folders inside my 2006 folder:

  • I like to label my folders with the month then the day and a description (eg 1-26 Australia day). This makes it easy for me to put my folders in chronological order.
Tip: If you mouse over an image, it should tell you the date the photo was taken.

  • Now I need to make a new folder, so I right click in a blank space and click ‘new’ then click ‘folder’ and name it something like (myReflections book1) Like this:

  • Then you are ready to fill your folder with the images you will use in your photobook. I go into the first folder, hold down the control key and select only the images I want to use. Then without taking my finger of the control key, I right click the mouse and select ‘copy’.
  • Go back to your new folder (myReflections book1). Right click it and select paste. Now go to your other folders and repeat until you have all the images you need. If they appear out of sequence, then click drag them into the order you wish. This will make it easier to complete your book in the Reflections photobook designer.
  • When you open the Reflections Photobook Design software, you need only open the folder you just created and it should take only a matter of minutes to complete your first book.
